Supported Devices Solaar will detect all devices paired with your Unifying, Lightspeed, or Nano receiver, and at the very least display some basic information about them. Also thanks to Douglas Wagner, Julien Gascard and Peter Wu for helping with application testing and supporting new devices. This project began as a third-hand clone of Noah K. Running the command-line application while the GUI application is also running may occasionally cause either of them to become confused about the state of the devices.
The solaar package uses a standard system tray implementation solaar-gnome3 is no longer required for gnome or unity integration. For some devices, extra settings usually not available through the standard Linux system configuration are supported. Logitech devices without a Unifying logo generally cannot be paired with Unifying receivers. Solaar can pair some Logitech devices with Logitech Nano receivers but not all Logitech devices can be paired with Nano receivers. Solaar will detect all devices paired with your Unifying, Lightspeed, or Nano receiver, and at the very least display some basic information about them. Please report such experiences by creating an issue in the Solaar repository. If your Logitech receiver or device behaves in a strange way this may be caused by an incorrect behavior generalization. Some of the capabilities of Solaar have been developed by observing the behavior of Logitech receivers and devices and generalizing from these observations.

Instead upgrade to a recent version or manually install the current version from GitHub. Problems with earlier versions should not be reported as bugs.

Solaar is thus unable to fix problems that arise from incorrect handling of mouse movements or keycodes by Linux drivers or other software.
Solaar does not process normal input from the devices. Solaar can also control some of the changeable features of devices, such as smooth scrolling or function key behavior. Solaar is able to pair and unpair devices with receivers as supported by the receiver. Both interfaces are able to list the devices paired to a receiver and show information about each device, including battery status for devices that support this feature. Solaar can be used as a GUI application or via its command-line interface.

That looks promising - I will check it out and report later.Solaar does not work with Logitech peripherals that use Bluetooth or peripherals from other companies.

MrFigs October 26,pm Aremis October 30,pm I just open a windows XP VM and open the config tool and pass through my mouse. Thinking of upgrading to a roccat nyth mouse. I am running Fedora Any ideas? Seems like that tool can do a lot. The backend libratbag shows the MX Master in its supported devices list. I miss having a dedicated double-click button. I recall a stack overflow thread where a guy basically packet-sniffed the usb connection in Windows to see what signals the extra buttons sent. Not sure if roccat have this but probably not.
If Roccat can do it what is Logitech waiting for? I would give Roccat a try because their decision to support linux is admirable, but to be honest I am really addicted to the dual mode scroll wheel. I mean they already have mac support, is it really that hard to release the basic tools for Linux? However Logitech support is crap and the fact that they refuse to provide linux support even though there are one of the largest peripherals manufacturers, really annoys me. I had a Razer Mamba and it literally started squeaking and falling apart after months of use. Running a non activated version in a VM och regular boot some other computer just to set it up and store it in the mouse? Have been told roccat works with linux, and there is an open source configuration tool for razer called razercfg. Own two logitech mice - g and g, both dont have linux drivers. I ended up setting them up under Windows and then storing the settings on the mouse itself. I had the same problem with the side buttons on my Gs not being configurable.

The chances of getting the OEM Logitech software to work right are probably pretty low, unfortunately. I found this a while ago, and was sort of planning on trying to set everything up manually. All the functions are definitely not used to the fullest. The application also exists for Mac so maybe the Mac version is easier to run under Linux.
